Plymouth manager Paul Sturrock is considering making changes for the game at Ashton Gate.
Sturrock hinted after Saturday's defeat at Blackpool that he may look to freshen up his team. Plymouth have insisted that Paul Sturrock's job as manager is safe despite the arrival of former Argyle and England striker Paul Mariner as head coach.
Saturday's defeat at Blackpool increased the pressure on Sturrock, and Plymouth are likely to drop to the bottom of the table if they lose and Ipswich - the club where Mariner made his name as a player - win at home to Watford.
This match looks like a tough task for the struggling Pilgrims given Bristol City's excellent home record.
City are unbeaten at Ashton Gate this season, although they were denied another victory there by Peterborough's late equaliser in a 1-1 draw at the weekend.
